About the role

SQC is seeking a multi-disciplinary communicator who can operate across the full marketing and communications spectrum: from social media and media relations to internal communications and ongoing marketing support. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, deeply technical environment. You will sit at the centre of SQC’s day-to-day marketing and communications bringing our stories to life at global scale across owned, earned and internal channels.

From placing a story with a journalist to generating compelling social content, you will play an important role in how we communicate with the world. This is a rare opportunity for someone who wants breadth, ownership and the chance to build a career in international, deep tech communications. You will report to (and learn from) our Head of Media & Public Relations - building your global network and collaborating closely with teams across the business.

Role responsibilities

  • Support ongoing media relations efforts: drafting press releases, pitches and executive briefing materials, including coordination of media opportunities.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of SQC’s social channels: from planning and content creation to scheduling, posting and engagement.
  • Develop internal communications to keep our team informed and connected, including internal updates, newsletters and all-hands support.
  • Support ongoing marketing activity, events and collateral, ensuring consistency of SQC’s brand voice across various touchpoints.
  • Track and report on the performance of SQC’s marketing and communications function to ensure optimal reach and engagement.
  • Support the management of external communications partners and vendors.

Your experience

Essential

  • A genuine interest in technology.
  • Demonstrable experience in deep tech, science or B2B communications (previous experience in quantum, AI or an adjacent field is a plus).
  • Strong writing skills with proven ability to distill complex technical detail into accessible messages for a broader audience.
  • Experience managing content calendars and the day-to-day mechanics of publishing content across digital platforms.
  • A broad range of skills and experience with social platforms, media software and the ability to adapt to new platforms on the fly.
  • Comfort with responsibility and accountability: the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver at pace.
  • Driven by measurable results and continuous improvement.

Desired

  • Experience supporting executive or thought leadership communications.
  • A history of AI implementation to increase productivity and outcomes.
  • Graphic design experience to support the creation of ad-hoc creative materials.
  • Familiarity and experience with our tool stack: Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Canva for design, a CMS such as Webflow, and various social media tools.
