About the role
SQC is seeking a multi-disciplinary communicator who can operate across the full marketing and communications spectrum: from social media and media relations to internal communications and ongoing marketing support. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, deeply technical environment. You will sit at the centre of SQC’s day-to-day marketing and communications bringing our stories to life at global scale across owned, earned and internal channels.
From placing a story with a journalist to generating compelling social content, you will play an important role in how we communicate with the world.This is a rare opportunity for someone who wants breadth, ownership and the chance to build a career in international, deep tech communications. You will report to (and learn from) our Head of Media & Public Relations - building your global network and collaborating closely with teams across the business.
Role responsibilities
- Support ongoing media relations efforts: drafting press releases, pitches and executive briefing materials, including coordination of media opportunities.
- Manage the day-to-day operation of SQC’s social channels: from planning and content creation to scheduling, posting and engagement.
- Develop internal communications to keep our team informed and connected, including internal updates, newsletters and all-hands support.
- Support ongoing marketing activity, events and collateral, ensuring consistency of SQC’s brand voice across various touchpoints.
- Track and report on the performance of SQC’s marketing and communications function to ensure optimal reach and engagement.
- Support the management of external communications partners and vendors.
Your experience
Essential
- A genuine interest in technology.
- Demonstrable experience in deep tech, science or B2B communications (previous experience in quantum, AI or an adjacent field is a plus).
- Strong writing skills with proven ability to distill complex technical detail into accessible messages for a broader audience.
- Experience managing content calendars and the day-to-day mechanics of publishing content across digital platforms.
- A broad range of skills and experience with social platforms, media software and the ability to adapt to new platforms on the fly.
- Comfort with responsibility and accountability: the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver at pace.
- Driven by measurable results and continuous improvement.
Desired
- Experience supporting executive or thought leadership communications.
- A history of AI implementation to increase productivity and outcomes.
- Graphic design experience to support the creation of ad-hoc creative materials.
- Familiarity and experience with our tool stack: Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Canva for design, a CMS such as Webflow, and various social media tools.
